How ACTPOL collects, uses, and protects personal data.
This privacy notice explains how ACTPOL, the Africa Centre for Technology Policy and Law, handles personal data collected through our website and newsletter. It is written to be consistent with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), and with applicable international standards.
What we collect
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide and the date of subscription. When you visit the site, our hosting infrastructure records standard server logs, including anonymised IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and analytics.
How we use it
Email addresses are used solely to deliver ACTPOL updates, research, and event invitations. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Aggregate server logs are used to maintain site performance and to identify abuse.
Your rights
You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. You may also write to info@actpol.legal to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you.
